We recently visited Marrakech, Morocco for a week long holiday of business and leisure, exploring the souqs, visiting the Jardin Majorelle and quad biking in the Palmeraie Desert.
Whilst there we met Jamal, he handmakes bags from natural goat leather and vintage persian kilim rugs that are handwoven from 100% wool. We spent the day with him designing a bag from those materials, adding in brass hardware and natural undyed 100% cotton lining.
Below is the first design of ours, it is a backpack with all of the above features and also a padded bottom and double leather straps. With some more research into the origins of the materials and (hopefully!) a few more trips to Marrakech to meet his team and work on some designs this could turn into a future collection!
